Carolyn Acton Events

Fantastic experience: I use Carolyn for events to display my art. whenever I can. All of those I have attended have been brilliant such as Oakham and Prestwold Hall. Carolyn and any organisers there have gone out of their way to help as much as possible with the room I need to set up. The events have been well advertised and attended and I’ve always had a good reception for my art. Plus she’s a lovely person!

Fantastic experience: I was a stall holder at Bishton Hall last weekend. There were 6 stalls outside and around the same inside. A few stalls didn't come which was a shame but it was no detriment to the day in my opinion. I had a lot of custom from the day and would do this event again if Carolyn hosted as it was very profitable and I gained many new customers. I found her pleasant, easy to do business with and had no problems at all. I, in fact forgot to pay up until the week and she was very understanding and laid back and I felt no unpleasantness from her due to my mistake. I'd happily work with her again based on my experience. Adding a photo of my stall at the event.

Negative experience: An incredibly poor Christmas event at Bishton Hall. A handful of stalls...maybe 7 There are obviously the regular businesses on site, which have some lovely things and the cafe is WONDERFUL, but the Christmas Fair itself was farcical.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been so impressed with Carolyn Acton Events. Carolyn works incredibly hard to promote her events, and it really shows in the turnout and atmosphere on the day. As a stallholder, I’ve always felt well-supported – communication is excellent, and her dedication to making each event a success is clear in every detail. Carolyn’s energy and commitment go above and beyond, and it makes a huge difference to those of us taking part. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her events to other traders or visitors – they’re always organised, well-attended, and a pleasure to be part of.

Negative experience: Very disappointing Christmas “event” at Hodsock Priory. No consideration given to seating, space or variety. Very expensive ticket price considering. I emailed to give feedback but my comments were completely ignored. The responses were very defensive. Certainly one to avoid!

Negative experience: Carolyn hired my company to provide entertainment for an event she ran. Carolyn has still not paid the invoice in full for the event despite it being 6 months ago. I have had to chase her for every slither of payment and even had to resort to taking her to court. If you are a stall holder or business. I absolutely would recommend staying clear of her events. All I receive is empty promises. Update: After a year, and taking Carolyn to small claims court. I have finally been paid.

Negative experience: Went to the craft fair at Hodsock Priory and was very disappointed. Just one room with stalls, long queues for food. Lovely venue but we were there less than an hour.

Fantastic experience: Carolyn is such a lovely lady and so welcoming! She’s a brilliant organizer, her events always have such a great turnout (we sold out in 2 hours!) and we’re happy to say we will be booking in to every Carolyn Acton event for the foreseeable future

Fantastic experience: As somebody who attends several craft events each year I have to say that Carolyn is one of the best organisers I have come across. At each event she has made sure that the stall holders are happy and is very helpful to one and all.. Her events have always been thoughtfully planned out, in good venues and nothing is left to chance. Carolyn is fun and always has a smile on her face and is very proactive rather than reactive.

Fantastic experience: Worked with Carolyn at an art and craft fayre recently at Hanworth Country Park, from start to finish her organisation skills, communication and effort were superb. The whole event was seamless. I have booked more events with Carolyn for the future. When you find an event organiser who you can trust and rely on stick with them. Fantastic experience: Carolyn, of Carolyn Acton Events, is undeniably a star! As a young, independent company, I am thrilled to have found Carolyn as an event organiser. Over the past six months, I have had stalls at all of her events and found her to be exemplary in every way. She goes out of her way to ensure that all her stallholders are happy before, during, and after each event. Nothing is too much trouble for her, and she accommodates the requirements of her stallholders with a smile. In short, I cannot recommend Carolyn Acton Events enough for any small business looking to promote their products in high-quality venues.

Carolyn, of Carolyn Acton Events is a huge support to all her traders. She always goes out of her way to accommodate my requirements and to look after me while I am at her events.

Fantastic experience: I attended an event as a stallholder and had an amazing experience. Carolyn kept in regular contact via email prior to the event, and Carolyn kept coming round during the event to check we had everything we needed and were happy. I then booked an event that had to.be cancelled due to a change of venue ownership and Carolyn immediately returned my fee with no qualms. I highly recommend Carolyn to plan these events

Negative experience: Scammer and a fraud! I was hired by Carolyn to host a couple of chef demos at the Doncaster food festival. Delivered an exceptional event backed up by all the feedback I received. Carolyn failed to pay the invoice and has refused to do so ever since - nearly 6 months ago. Owes me £1000! Don’t ever deal with her and if you do expect to be out of pocket!

Negative experience: Absolute joke didn't get any money back from an event that got cancelled fuming

Negative experience: Would have given this 0 stars if possible. The Doncaster Food and Drink festival was totally unacceptable. Absolutely not as advertised, and a complete waste of money.

Negative experience: Unprofessional Very nice lady until I asked for a refund? The event I had paid for was cancelled due to Covid restrictions. I asked for a refund as I only sell Christmas items and the next event for stalls was in the spring. Carolyn was not helpful with my request and kept fobbing me off with excuses as to why I had to wait for my refund. “She hadn’t got the money to pay me back, she hadn’t forgotten me, she couldn’t promise anything?” All these excuses when all I asked for was a refund . I was called a horrid person and rude in emails from her just for requesting my money back. It was £75 which may not be much to her but is a lot to me. I eventually got the refund after some very patronising emails from her which were quite upsetting. I cannot comment on actual events as this one never happened, but I can comment on her attitude which, in my opinion, was rude, sarcastic and very unprofessional. I would worry for anyone paying a large deposit and losing it through no fault of their own. I did tell Carolyn I was not happy and would have to leave a negative review and this was her response... ‘ No worries, I can always leave a comment on your page’!!!
