Fantastic experience: Beautiful stationary and decor supplied by Simply elegant for our wedding this month. The brief was “black tie, black/ white” but surprise me! And boy did they deliver! They gave us everything we dreamed of and more, they completely transformed the venue giving us dark, candle light vibes as it was an evening wedding. They went above and beyond even providing some additional items just to elevate the room and give us the look we wanted on the day - if that’s not great service I don’t know what is. Everyone was blown away, and seeing it all for the first time as I walked down the aisle made it even more magical. Thank you Liz and the team from the bottom of our hearts

Negative experience: I dismissed the negative reviews from previous brides initially, but still, I didn't want to trust them with too much just incase it happened to me, so only kept to what was necessary as they had an exclusive arrangement with our venue. Very difficult to get hold of, constantly have to chase them. I made sure everything was clear, with photos and in writing so there'd be no room for misunderstanding or error (again I'd been warned by others) and had it all agreed first by email, then on the phone. Still walked down the aisle on my wedding day to see that they hadn't done what I'd asked and instead had just left the decor up from the wedding the day before. Their argument was that it still matched OK. Hardly the point, guys, it wasn't what I ordered and they didn't seem to see the issue. Some other items were OK, thankfully. Shame what went wrong was the most obvious thing in the hall though. Complained after and asked for a refund for that part; they pretended the style I wanted hadn't existed when I'd ordered (I'd literally sent them a screenshot of their own Instagram page - at the same venue, from months before) that they had confirmed and said all fine and they'd do it as pictured. They blamed me for not finalising in time. They'd ignored contact for months saying they were busy and we'd finalise closer to the day, and when I finally got through after having no further contact from them at all, it was still over a month in advance and, again, all was agreed with no problem. They did make some excuses about a 'system failure' and staff not telling me something wasn't available. That would be fine, but you don't expect to find out on walking in when it's too late, do you. No contact or follow up to warn us of the changes, just given whatever was already there. £350 for the wrong thing, that happened to already be up. When you'd ordered something else and wanted a specific look. Disappointed and feeling a little taken advantage of tbh. A big thank you to those who shared their honest experiences on here so I knew not to trust them with too much, or I imagine I'd have been tearing my hair out. It's your wedding, don't risk it.

Fantastic experience: Liz, Jess and all of the team at Simply Elegant did an absolutely wonderful job of dressing our venue, designing our stationery and providing the most beautiful flowers I could have imagined. They managed to create exactly what I had in mind, even though I couldn't describe it that well and it was truly beautiful. They were wonderful in rearranging my wedding, not only once, but twice and so accommodating when I had tweaked lots of my ideas for the final big day. The venue looked incredible, and many other wedding suppliers commented that it is the best they have seen the venue look and my vision was truly brought to life. Thank you so much! Xxx

Fantastic experience: I literally cannot thank simply elegant enough! Our daughter and son in law had to rearrange their wedding 3 times due to covid but simply elegant were patient and understanding and also of my daughter changing her mind from original ideas. They just accepted it all and gave her exactly what she wanted on the day. Liz , Russ and the team decorated the venue so beautifully that it made me cry. Jess did the most fantastic job with the flowers, everything was just perfect!. We received lots of compliments on how amazing it all looked. I cannot recommend them highly enough! Thank you so so much, you are the best!.

Negative experience: We ordered two wreaths from these people.. They gave us a price and took the order. Then 2 days later told us they couldn't fulfill the order due to suddenly going away on a surprise weekend, the exact weekend we had arranged to collect the wreaths. This is totally unacceptable in my book. I would never use them again for anything.

Negative experience: XXXXXX AVOID THIS COMPANY XXXXXXXX Well where do I start! From the beginning this company got things wrong (so in hindsight we should have known things wouldn't be done properly). We paid this company for our stationary and to dress our wedding venue! There were issues with our stationary as they were rushed due to a family holiday! A mistake was made on our invitation, the proof was sent to me during work (due to them rushing) and 'apparently' I had approved the proof with the mistake which I didn't! They did do a reprint but still blamed me for it! This is a kind of running theme! So on the Thursday before our wedding we collected the (silk) flowers, we had asked for ivory on my bouquet and the corsages when we ordered and they all came in royal blue like the buttonholes! Then it comes to our wedding day, just as I walked down the aisle I realised that the lanterns we'd asked for on numerous occasions weren't placed down the aisle and they had covered the venue's lovely chairs with white chair covers! Then when we walked into our reception we realised the centerpieces we ordered weren't done as we asked!! But the final straw was when our mothers thank you bouquets were placed behind us and they were £10 bunches of flowers that they had bought from a supermarket because of some problem with their suppliers!! There is also a HUGE communication problem, they are a nightmare to get hold of until they want to be paid!! I am beyond upset about all this, it was one thing after another. What was worse is that these people continued to lie to us about what we asked for! We had spoken to Liz during the mock up to confirm all this and she spoke in detail and wrote plans of the tables with the centerpieces on our notes!! When we told them about all this they had expected us to stop our wedding ceremony to change things and then the same for our reception! SIMPLY ELEGANT get paid to dress a venue in the way you have asked and paid for, it is not acceptable to ask for things to be changed during the wedding and reception!! The most sad thing is, the work they did was beautiful, but not what we wanted, this company needs better organisation, better communication with customers and better customer service.

Negative experience: Following my wedding on June 29th 2019 I 100% would not recommend this company. From day one Liz did not treat me as a bride but as a hindrance to her. One day she could do my wedding next day she couldn’t . She cancelled every meeting she had with me, never once made me feel special. The night before my wedding which was held in Torquay one of the bridesmaids brought all the wedding decorations up in her car from simply elegance, including my bouquet. When I saw my bouquet I threw it back in the car in tears it’s was old, dis coloured and certainly not the bouquet I had chosen. I spent 14 months planing. My wedding in great detail. I chose lemon and cream roses for my bouquet and table arrangements. However what liz sent up was yellow and cream, it broke my heart I was so disappointed and dissatisfied I cried all night before my wedding. Next the beautiful white mirror I had ordered with roses going around the corners of the white mirror this was the table number arrangement . I was so looking forward to seeing this. But to my horror and disappointment again no flowers were put on my mirror just a plain gold mirror sent. Luckily I am an organised person so I have every receipt, and photograph evidence from August 2018 which I’ve got pictures to prove every order I put to liz which clearly shows I wanted lemon cream for my colour theme , flowers and most defiantly shows I did not once ask for yellow flowers on my table arrangement and in my bouquet. It was lucky that I had a friend who made my cake who is clever at making flower arrangements she stepped in and saved my bouquet and flower arrangements. Also liz said she was sending her husband to Torquay to put things right for me” my special day” but no one came. She just left me heartbroken to the point now that I have sought legal advice. No bride should ever feel like I feel or be left to feel devastated the night before their wedding. Liz promised me a mock up of what my wedding would look like, but she failed to do this for me. I’m so annoyed with it all it makes me cry daily as my wedding was not the vision I had and what I had planned and paid for. Liz you failed me and my husband I hope you never failed another bride , I hope you never make any other bride feel as worthless to you as you did too me .. people be warned .

Fantastic experience: Well I don’t even know where to start, myself and my husband got married in February and honestly we can not thank everyone at simply elegant enough for going above and beyond and working so hard to make our wedding day the most beautiful day. From just going in and giving them the date of the wedding and that I wanted each table to be a different Disney film they took my idea and exceeded our expectations, from stationary, centre pieces, cake backdrop, flowers for us all and even a photo backdrop they completely took charge and the whole room looked amazing!! We will be forever grateful for making our day so special, nothing was to much trouble and we can not recommend them enough. Thank you guys, Mr & Mrs Hodgson

Fantastic experience: When i first entered Simply Elegant showroom i was met by warmth from all the staff. I did not have a clue how to convey what i was looking for but Liz and her wonderful team put me at ease and my wedding planning began. This is a family run business with a difference. They are warm friendly and they really do go way above what is asked of them. Nothing was to much trouble and the finer details was spot on. I asked Liz for the wow factor and she certainly delivered. It is very difficult to convey ideas you have in your head but amazingly Liz and her family picked up on exactly what i wanted. I had so much trust and confidence in them that i did not go with any other company they did it all, from stunning invitation cards right down to my wedding bouquet and bridesmaids flowers. Liz and her family gave me so many ideas to which i have to say was simply amazing. Each time i went to see them i was met by a hard working dedicated family who put their heart and soul in creating your dream wedding and on the day of my wedding my dream all came together with a blank canvas that was transformed into a fantastic fairy tale setting which was simply elegant. Staff at my venue said in all the years they had been having weddings there the decorations had never looked so beautiful and staff throughout the hotel was all taking photos and taking a peek at how beautiful Liz and her team had tranformed it. I have the utmost respect for this wonderful family run business i recommend them 100% they deserve all the recognition In the world and if i was recommending a wedding company then all i can say is if you want the best in the business then Simply Elegant is the best of the best. All my guests still say they havent been to a wedding that has come even close to matching how beautiful Liz and her family created that day sowhat are you waiting for go and visit their showroom and see for yourself how warm and friendly they are and just like me you will walk in a stranger but you will leave as a friend because they are simpky amazing in everything they do

Fantastic experience: I’m afraid my words will not come close to expressing how amazing Liz Russ and family are! After months of wedding planning countless wedding fayres I had all but given up hope of finding someone who know what I really wanted.....until I came across simply elegant weddings and events in a wedding magazine and instantly knew I had to go see them 1. The shop is insane there’s so much in there that I was like a child in a sweet shop I thought my head was going to explode. 2. After having a coffee and a chat about the wedding Liz instantly got what I wanted and made it so easy and simple without me getting overwhelmed. 3. The fact that it’s a family affair just sold it they put so much love into everything they do Due to a bereavement we pushed the wedding back and simply elegant weddings and events were a dream to deal with, they couldn’t do more for us and put our minds at ease. For anyone getting married they offer the full package please go see them they are amazing at what they do.

Negative experience: Despite sending the wording for the welsh invites there were so many spelling errors and incomplete sentences. Some of the Welsh invitations still had some English text on too. -they missed names off invitations which meant they were delayed -two of our invitations had an RSVP address to Dubai(we don’t live in Dubai). They admitted they mixed them with another couple.The envelopes had our name and address on. data protection comes to mind! -we told the company the error they said they’d knock off the price of the pearl decor(which we were lead to believe was included inthe quote at consultation)and supply us with a guest book but we never saw this. Finance- when we booked with the company at consultation we paid for the invites in full. When we were invoiced for the order of service they put on the cost of the invites AGAIN. They questioned the payment but fortunately I found it on the bank statement. Strangely enough the second invoice showed that we had been overcharged. Definitely wouldn’t use again. Slap dash work and left to last minute. Family run and I think they’re swept away with the idea of a successful family business but don’t have the know how. Don’t get me wrong, the invites were lovely but I wouldn’t trust them with the job again and definitely not to dress a wedding venue.
